LONDON (AFP) - Former glam rocker and convicted paedophile Gary Glitter was refused entry to Hong Kong Wednesday after being thrown out of Thailand, the British foreign ministry said.
The Chinese authorities told London that they denied the 64-year-old entry at 11:00 pm local time (1500 GMT). He was earlier declared "persona non grata" by the Thai authorities.
Glitter had refused to board a plane to his native Britain, where a hostile reception awaited him after Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said he should not be allowed to leave once he returns.
He had been booked to fly to London, but complained of chest pains.
Thai authorities agreed for him to go to Hong Kong, but now Glitter -- real name Paul Francis Gadd -- is looking for a yet another Asian destination to accept him.
Glitter arrived in Bangkok from Vietnam after spending two years and nine months in jail for committing obscene acts with the two girls in the southern resort town of Vung Tau in 2005.
