  • Did Prince William just step out with a hole in his shoe? See the picture

Prince William flew out to Davos, Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum and interview none other than David Attenborough on Tuesday, taking part in a discussion about conservation, wildlife and preserving the natural world. The conversation, which was streamed live online, drew in viewers from all the world - though many royal watchers got a little distracted when they noticed William seemed to have a hole in the sole of his shoe, which was clearly on display as he sat with his legs crossed. Oops! There was a dark mark on William's shoe which many thought was a hole From the photographs, it's hard to tell if the Duke's shoe is merely a little worn down or if he is in fact feeling the fresh air on his feet - though either way, we've certainly all been there. In fact, while attending his best pal's wedding back in August, Prince Harry showed he is equally loyal to his own favourite pair of brogues, since fans also spotted he had a tear on his soles at the time. One eagle-eyed viewer wrote on Twitter: "In other news, can we have confirmation about Prince William’s shoes here, is this a hole, or black tape underneath his shoe?" while another added: "Have we just seen the Duke of Cambridge on BBC 1 News with a hole in his sole?" It's a footwear mystery. What do you think? During the conversation with the legendary nature presenter, William admitted that it was nice to be the one conducting the interview for a change. He said: "It's a personal treat for me to be sitting here asking you questions. Normally I have to endure people asking me questions so it's quite nice to be turning the tables for once."     The pair discussed their shared passion for protecting the environment, with David saying, "The future of the natural world is in our hands. We have never been more powerful. We can wreck it with ease. We can wreck it without even knowing we are doing it. And if we wreck the natural world, in the end, we wreck ourselves." • Eamonn Holmes reveals why his night at the NTAs was ruined

Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford made a rare joint red carpet appearance on Tuesday night to attend the National Television Awards, which saw This Morning pick up the award for Best Daytime Programme once again. And following the evening, Eamonn took to social media to joke that his night had been ruined because he had been mistaken for Bodyguard star Richard Madden. The TV presenter shared a photo of the pair standing side-by-side in matching tuxedos, and wrote: "Whole night at The NTA's ruined by people mistaking me for @maddenrichard The Bodyguard. Once and for all I'm on the left." The TV couple have been working together on the daytime show for 17 years, and while they very much enjoy spending that extra bit of time together at work, Ruth has previously confessed that it can be a bit "dangerous" to work with her husband. Talking to HELLO! in 2016, she said: "Eamonn is quite maverick and off the wall and a bit dangerous - I never know what he is going to do next. He doesn’t stick to auto-cue or script, but he challenges me and pushes me outside of my comfort zone, and I reign him in if he is being a bit too wild. We must be doing something right we have been doing it for 15 years now!"           View this post on Instagram                   Whole night at The NTA's ruined by people mistaking me for @maddenrichard The Bodyguard. Ruth told HELLO! that she enjoys living in a small town as she can just be herself. She said: "I can walk around the high street and I don’t have to have my make-up on and people see me in my gym kit and on the school run, so it’s nothing special to them. You don’t feel like you are in a goldfish bowl here." The couple are the proud parents of son Jack, 15, while Eamonn is also a dad to three children from his previous marriage, Declan, Rebecca and Nial - who he shares with ex-wife Gabrielle Holmes. • Strictly's Aljaz melts our hearts with this red carpet gesture at NTA Awards

Strictly Come Dancing's Aljaz Skorjanec literally had us swooning on Tuesday night as we caught sight of his gentlemanly behaviour when the snow began to fall on the National Television Awards' red carpet. No sooner had heavens opened, than Aljaz whipped off his tuxedo jacket and held it in the air above wife Janette Manrara's hair to protect her from getting wet. MORE: Where was Gemma - why was Gorka alone on the NTAs red carpet?  The handsome couple, who appeared in this week's HELLO! magazine talking romance and babies, were fan favourites on the red carpet at the NTAs. And showing himself to be a true knight in shining armour, Aljaz made sure his lovely wife did not ruin her appearance as the heavens opened. Aljaz keeps his wife dry as the snow starts to fall Talking to HELLO! this week, the stunning couple revealed the touching reason they would want to renew their wedding vows. The pair reminisced on their weddings, which took place in July 2017. The couple had three celebrations in: London, Janette's home state of Florida and Aljaz's native country of Slovenia. "We got married three times, so we had two renewals of the vows done within a week," said Aljaz, 28. "But it was a beautiful time, wasn't it?" Janette, 35, added: "Yes, it was the perfect wedding. Weddings, I guess you could say. I have a few friends actually who have just renewed their vows - Jake Wood and Alison Wood, he was my partner on Strictly in 2014 and they just renewed their vows, and it was so romantic and beautiful to see them do that. So, I don't know, maybe... yes." MORE: Loose Women make a statement on the NTA red carpet And even more exciting for their legions of fans is the news that babies may be on the agenda for this super-cute duo."It's never going to be the perfect time to have a baby but we do talk about it a lot and we are very much looking forward to becoming a mum and dad," Janette revealed. "So it's definitely going to happen. When, we don't know, we'll see. We're kind of taking it slowly. A dancer's career can be quite short, especially when you reach a certain level, and work is going so good for us at the moment that is the priority."

  • Theresa May should have resigned long ago. We deserve better than this

The catastrophic handling of Brexit highlights to what extent our political process is now mired in the mud. Theresa May has suffered no fewer than 27 Commons defeats, 10 of them in connection with Brexit. For example, having split his party over the Corn Laws in 1846, Sir Robert Peel resigned as prime minister after the defeat of his Irish Coercion Bill.

The first person to have publicly mentioned seeing the flash was a Reddit user who said they "saw a bright flash on the moon" as they were looking up during the lunar eclipse, and had run inside and checked on a feed from Morocco that included the same flash.
