Sheryl Crow has spoken about her experience as one of Michael Jackson's backing singers, revealing she had “a lot of questions” about the late pop star’s behaviour. Crow performed with Jackson during his 18-month Bad tour in the Eighties, and later starred in his music video for “Dirty Diana”. Speaking to The Telegraph, the singer revealed she has not watched controversial documentary Leaving Neverland, which addresses multiple allegations of child sexual abuse by Jackson, but was around “for some things that I thought were really strange”. “I haven’t seen the documentary and I don’t want to see it,” she said. “I was around for some things that I thought were really strange, and I had a lot of questions about.”Crow also spoke about Jackson in another recent interview, this time with The Guardian, where she remembered one of Jackson’s accusers, James Safechuck, as “a great kid”. Asked if she ever wondered what those young children were doing on the tour, she responded: “I think that there were a lot of exceptions made because of the damage that [Jackson]... I mean, he didn’t intentionally project it, but it was part of his aura - this almost being untouchable and almost alien-like [figure].“And yeah, I mean, I’m sad, and I’m mad at a lot of people. I feel like there was just a huge network of people that allowed all that to go on. It’s just tragic.”
