British Soap Awards: EastEnders Star Maddy Hill Celebrates Her Best New Comer Win

It's that time of year again – the British Soap Awards! Yes, our favourite soap stars put on their glad rags to celebrate their crazy storylines and the brilliant acting.

One of the best awards of the night (in our humble opinion) is the Best New Comer category. As host Phillip Schofield said: “I have no doubt that whoever wins tonight will go on to a glittering career.”

He even added that the coveted trophy has previously been awarded to big acting talents, Michelle Keegan, Nigel Harman and Jessie Wallace. So who was the winner this year?

Well, the nominees included EastEnders Maddy Hill (Nancy Carter), Corrie's Amy Kelly (Maddie Heath), Emmerale's Michael Parr (Ross Barton) and Hollyoak's Charlie Clapham (Freddie Roscoe).

Each of them has been a part of a major storyline this year, but who managed to snag the award this year......

Congratulations Maddy Hill!

The beautiful blonde picked up her trophy from X Factor's Sam Bailey and TV presenter Charlotte Hawkins.

She gushed: “This is really cool thank you everyone that's at EastEnders. It's been amazing the best 6 months of my life.”

Maddy then went on to thank many of the cast and crew for her win, mentioning her the make-up and costume department, the whole cast and her on-screen family.

Leaving the stage with great excitement she cried: “Thank you!”
