'She's Torn': Cheryl Cole 'Under Pressure' To Make X Factor Comeback Decision?

Cheryl Cole is allegedly still undecided on whether or not she will return to The X Factor to sit alongside Simon Cowell this year.

The former Girls Aloud singer previously mentored contestants between 2008 and 2010, and is said to be "so stressed" over Cowell's offer to come back.

She previously mentored Rebecca Ferguson, Cher Lloyd, Diana Vickers, Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry during their tenures on the ITV show, but faced controversy over her decision to eliminate Gamu in 2010 and for allegedly losing contact with her acts once the cameras stopped rolling.

Speaking to Closer, a source said: “Cheryl’s suffering sleepless nights over whether to return. She feels under pressure because the next step for her is critical to her career comeback.

“She’s so stressed, she’s been waking up in the night.”

They added: “She’s emotional at the thought of going back to a show she associates with the saddest parts of her time and she knows it’s make or break for her career.

"Although she loved so much of the show, she hates remembering all the bickering with fellow judge Louis Walsh while her marriage to Ashley was breaking down. She knows Simon wants a decision as soon as possible but she’s torn."

Cheryl is expected to release her fourth solo album in 2014, two years after her last effort A Million Lights.

That LP peaked at No2 on the album chart and yielded the No1 single 'Call My Name', produced by Calvin Harris.
