Is Cheryl Fernandez-Versini Pregnant? Fans Speculate As Singer Returns To Instagram With Cher Lloyd Look

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has managed to cause a near-meltdown in her fanbase by returning to Instagram with her first selfie of the year and sparking a whole load of pregnancy rumours in the process.

After being noticeably absent for pretty much the whole of January and not turning up to help The X Factor celebrate their win at the National Television Awards, the singer has got her fans questioning whether she's been doing some baking during her break.

Baking? Bun in the oven? ALRIGHT SORRY.

The 31-year-old seemed to be taking style tips from her younge protégé Cher Lloyd for her selfie, captioned: "Exciting day ahead 😁," rocking a red tartan shirt, a return to curly brunette locks and a healthy coating of mascara and eyeliner.

Looking as beautiful as ever, Chezza.

But it wasn't Chezza's gorgeous style that got people talking.

Instead, her fans went into a frenzy over the possibility that she'd taken some time off because she could be pregnant.

AND SO IT BEGINS.

Tweeting the former Girls Aloud singer, one fan wrote: "Cheryl.. We miss you! Just a thought.. You haven't been on for ages and tweet that.. You pregnant?."

Another pondered: "@cherylofficial went off and got married. She didn't drink at the x factor final and hasn't been seen since, think someone is! X."

No wonder Cheryl has delayed her return!

However, her mentions weren't completely full of fans asking whether or not she's expecting her first bubba.

Some fans defended the singer, with one writing: "Omg! Rumours are called rumours for a reason! Cheryl is NOT pregnant unless she announces it herself!"

Guess we'll just have to watch this space..

Cheryl hit back at critics just before Wednesday's NTAs, taking to Twitter with a properly cryptic message to tell people to stop assuming things.

Could she have been talking about the ceremony and why she wasn't there? Did someone (someone horrible, may we just add) have a bit of a pop at her for not going?

Considering it was the first time she'd addressed her followers on Twitter since January 1st, it seems suspiciously so.

She didn't snub the awards entirely though, sharing a throwback photo from the last series of the show on Instagram as she celebrated the win the next day.

She captioned the photo: "Congratulations to #Xf for winning the NTA last night👏 !!! 💃💃💃 Woohoo #xf2014 👍."

It's a shame she couldn't be there to celebrate with the judges, but whatever the reason, we hope she's okay.

Now, can we just take a minute to imagine how adorable and GORGEOUS a baby Fernandez-Versini would be?! We really hope this rumour is true (sorry not sorry)!
