Louis Tomlinson's 'Always In My Heart' Tweet To Harry Styles Passes ONE MILLION Retweets

If you cast your mind back to mid-January, you might remember the small case of Louis Tomlinson's four-year-old, lovey-dovey tweet to bandmate, Harry Styles, surpassing actual President Obama to becoming the second most retweeted tweet in history.

IN. HISTORY.

At the time of writing that article, the tweet had over 761,200 retweets and counting, now, just over one month later, the love has shot up to over one MILLION.

Yes, Louis' original tweet is currently standing at 1029304 retweets - if that's not a sign of how many people love the boys' love, we don't know what is.... And our favourite part of all of it?

It hit the prestigious milestone while the One Direction star's icon was a Twitter EGG.

Actually hilair.

The 23-year-old's iconic tweet was posted just after midnight on the 3rd of October 2011, when the Larry Stylinson ship was sailing at full speed, and Louis tweeted to his bandmate: "Always in my heart @Harry_Styles . Yours sincerely, Louis".

Trying to ignore the pretty snazzy Mean Girls reference (October 3rd, grool), this tweet is pretty amazing for a whole load of reasons, starting with the fact that it was back in the good ol' days when the boys used to ACTUALLY tweet eachother, but mostly because it is such an adorable declaration of love and iconically came the day before Lou was first papped with his girlfriend, Eleanor Calder.

Prior to this year, President Obama's 'Four More Years' post from the 2012 election followed Ellen Degeneres' famous Oscar selfie as most retweeted tweet, but the One Direction fandom, namely 'Larry Shippers', proved that with some undying dedication they could get their boys, and their love, to overtake politics.

Good going guys, give yourselves a massive pat on the back for that one.

Although there is still quite a way to go before AIMH surpasses Ellen's, with the rate that it continues to grow we wouldn't be surprised if it nabbed the 'Most Retweeted' title within the next few months.

And THAT is impressive - we'll put some champers on ice for the big moment, yeah?

This mass achievement from the fandom also serves as a reminder of just how many people 'ship' Louis and Harry, with around a gazillion fans believing that the two boys are actually in a secret, romantic relationship with one another and have been since the X Factor days.

And believe it or not it's not as crazy as it sounds - the fans have actually compiled a rather convincing box full of evidence to prove this theory , and Harry going absolutely wild during last year's promo tour (Not that important/ Don't knock it 'til you've tried it, need we go on?) drove that speculation into overdrive.

Now that over one million individuals have retweeted Louis' declaration, we can safely say that we probably aren't ready for the rollercoaster of emotion that is set to hit us over the next few months... But one thing we do know for sure is that we can't bloomin' wait.
