Andy Serkis Talks Ulysses Klaw’s Marvel Future

Andy Serkis has been talking about the future of his Marvel character Ulysses Klaw within the studio’s cinematic universe. And even though he’s tried to play dumb it sounds as if he will be around for a good few movies to come.

Serkis was only confirmed as the villain last month, however it was common knowledge after we got a glimpse of his character in the first ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ trailer back in September.

And while at the Empire Awards on Sunday evening, Serkis confirmed that he is Ulysses Klaw while also admitting that he was only on the sequel’s set for a short amount of time. “It was really minimal,” Serkis confirmed, “but I just loved doing it; it’s a great character.”

Now it’s safe to assume that Marvel didn’t cast an actor as supremely talented as Andy Serkis just to play a bit part in ‘Age Of Ultron’. In fact, when you consider the villain’s history with the Black Panther it would make a lot of sense if Klaw returned in the near future to go up against the superhero.

Chadwick Boseman has already been confirmed as the Black Panther, and it’s also been revealed that the actor will portray him in both ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and his own standalone film in July 2018 too.

When Serkis was asked if he might be joining the fray too, he responded, “That, I know nothing about. I truly don’t know anything about that. I know that they’ve just announced the ‘Black Panther’ movie, but I don’t know anything about it.”

Serkis has probably been informed by the powers-at-be over the Marvel to keep that information under his hat for the time being. But we can expect to see plenty more of him as Klaw over the next few years. And that will all kick off when ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ is released in the UK on 23 April, 2015.
