Aquaman Jason Momoa On Size Of His Batman v Superman Role

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's king of the Seven Seas Jason Momoa has been talking about his upcoming debut in next year's Warner Bros' superhero mash-up.

Momoa’s once-assumed role in the Zack Snyder film was confirmed last month when a picture of Momoa in costume was posted online by the director.

Entertainment Weekly asked the former ‘Game of Thrones’ star how big a part he’d be playing in the film, and his answer suggests it won’t be a large role. “Well, it’s Batman and Superman, it’s not my movie,” said Momoa. “It’s the first time in history to have them both on the screen together, and I’m just excited to see those two up there.”

He also hinted that his character wouldn’t be involved in much of the film’s action. Asked if he had filmed any action sequences with Ben Affleck’s Batman or Henry Cavill’s Superman, the 35-year-old said: “No, we haven’t done too much on the action yet. You know, ‘Justice League’ is still quite a ways away [2017]. But I’m looking forward to it. Henry’s a sweetheart, Ben is a badass, so I’m really looking forward to when we all shoot ‘Justice League’.”

It sounds like Momoa’s Aquaman won’t be playing a pivotal part in next year’s ‘Dawn of Justice’ but is rather being introduced in a small, cameo capacity. Gal Gadot’s debuting Wonder Woman is likely to be more pivotal to the plot as Warner Bros plan for a connected cinematic universe unfolds.

Momoa also spoke of his love for the character and how Aquaman had been something of an after-thought and joke until now. “The whole mythology of Aquaman is pretty amazing,” he said. “There’s so many things to tell, and there’s a whole backstory that’s just amazing.

"There’s a lot of surprises coming. I think, yeah, he’s been cast aside. But, um [laughs] times are going to change now, buddy."
