Asa Butterfield In Final Negotiations For Spider-Man

It sounds as if we now know who the next friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is going to be after it was reported that Asa Butterfield has been picked out by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment for the new film.

Latino Review have reported that Marvel and Sony agreed that Butterfield was the right actor for the superhero role last week, and now they’re in final negotiations with the actor before his casting is announced.

Asa Butterfield is expected to make his debut as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ next summer, which is currently in production.

This means that we can expect an announcement regarding Butterfield’s addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the next few weeks, and then Butterfield will begin his stint as the character.

18-year-old Asa Butterfield’s appointment as Spidey is hardly surprising as Marvel have previously made it well known that they wanted a younger actor to play Parker.

This will allow them to explore the character during his high-school years, which is despite the fact that Sony and Marvel don’t plan on providing a new origin story for the character.

Butterfield is believed to have beaten out Tom Holland for the part, and ‘The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas’, ‘Hugo’ and ‘Ender’s Game’ star is now going to become a firm fixture of both Marvel and Sony’s output.

After making his debut in ‘Civil War’, which s due out on May 6, 2016, while the latest ‘Spider-Man’ film will hit on July 28, 2017.
