Avengers: Age of Ultron UK Release Date Brought Forward

Rejoice UK-based true believers! The UK release date of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ has been brought forward.

We were already set to see the film before our US cousins, but now Marvel has confirmed we’ll see it even sooner on Thursday, 23 April, eight whole days before it’s release across the pond.

For whatever reason, Marvel likes giving us their biggest films first and we’re certainly not complaining about it. ‘Avengers Assemble’ was released here first in 2012 and the majority of Marvel’s films since have done the same.

Most of Marvel’s phase three films - including ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’, ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ are also set to hit cinemas in the UK sooner than most other territories.

The likelihood is that by releasing the film here earlier, it generates a little more buzz from actually audiences, rather than critics, heading into the important domestic release. How much of an effect this has had on their success is hard to say, so maybe Marvel are just a superstitious bunch.

In other ‘Avengers’ news, the long-believed rumour that Andy Serkis will play Black Panther nemesis Ulysses Klaw has seemingly been confirmed by Stitch Kingdom, who received a bunch of watermark-free images from Joss Whedon’s film.

'Avengers: Age of Ultron' will be released on 23 April.
