Avengers: Age of Ultron UK Release Date Moved Forward

The release date for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ has been brought forward in the UK and Ireland.

Originally pegged for a 1 May 2015 launch, Marvel has announced via Twitter that Joss Whedon’s super-sequel will now hit cinemas over here on 24 April instead.

This means there’s now less than a year to wait for the Avengers to reassemble on screen to take on new villain Ultron.

It’s not the first time we’ve got the big blockbusters before anywhere else, in fact, it’s starting to become standard practice for tentpole movie releases.

Other big films that opened here first recently include ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Thor: The Dark World’, ‘Prometheus’, and the first ‘Avengers’ film.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is currently filming in the UK at Shepperton Studios, following location shoots in South Africa, Italy, and South Korea.

Cast members Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo have tweeted images from the shoot, revealing that all the ‘Avengers’ team (Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth) are currently on set.

Imagine bumping into that lot at the hotel breakfast!

Director Joss Whedon says shooting the follow up to third highest-grossing movie of all time in the UK with result in a markedly different looking film.

“The number of different looks and and textures and moods we’re getting from the British locations is stupid awesome, because this, palette-wise, is very different,” he told Empire.

"I’m trying to make a different film. Because why would you make one movie twice? That seems weird.”

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron” is coming to UK cinemas 24 April, 2015. Take that America!
