Batman V Superman Rumour: Superman May Have Scenes On Wonder Woman's Island

A new ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ rumour (we know, there hasn’t exactly been a shortage of those) suggests the film may see Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel visit Themyscira, the homeland of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.

Director Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated DC Comics team-up movie, intended to launch a cinematic universe to rival that of Marvel Studios, is reportedly nearing the end of principal photography, with the production having recently left its main locations in Michigan for New Mexico.

There is widespread speculation, following footage of sets under construction filmed by local TV news station KOAT-7 last month, that the New Mexico sets are being used for scenes based in Themyscira, the mystical island out of time from which DC’s immortal Amazonian superheroine hails - and according to Tech Times, Henry Cavill is currently on set there.

This would suggest that Cavill, either in his Superman or Clark Kent guise. will be spending some time on the Amazon island in the movie, and it seems fair to assume Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman/Diana will be there too.

However, there are no reports of new Batman actor Ben Affleck being on set too. (Perhaps it’s strictly a ‘people with actual superpowers only’ get-together )

The word thus far has suggested that Wonder Woman’s role in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ will be a fairly minor one (as her omission from the title might suggest), with Gadot set for her time in the spotlight in the 2017 ‘Wonder Woman’ solo movie - reported to be a 1920s-set prequel.

We can probably assume, then, that whatever we see of Themyscira in ‘Batman V Superman’ will be a mere taster of what’s in store a little further down the line.

'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' is due to hit cinemas on 25 March 2016, before 'Wonder Woman' flies her invisible plane solo on 23 June 2017 - leading to the first 'Justice League' movie on 17 November 2017.
