Batman V Superman Split Into Two Parts?

It looks as though ‘Batman V Superman’ might actually be an epic two-parter… introducing Batman before leading into a heavyweight super-powered clash.

It’s something we’ve seen in Young Adult movies for some time – splitting movies into two parts in order to give the filmmakers a bit more room. And probably to earn a bit more cash.

But now ‘Batman V Superman’ could be about to follow suit…

According to a mysterious image which popped up on Imgur (via Ain’t It Cool News), the upcoming ‘Batman V Superman’ will be released in two distinct parts.

The first, titled ‘Enter The Knight’, is said to be released on 23 October 2015… a good five months ahead of the original release date. But what about Part Two? That’s apparently taking the original release date and will be titled ‘Dawn of Justice’.

Of course, this is a wild rumour and the above image could easily have been recreated by anyone who wanted to… but while it may seem a bit out there, it might just tally with some of what we’ve been hearing.

Over the course of the ‘Batman V Superman’ film shoot, there were plenty of rumours suggesting that it may film back-to-back with the upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie.

But could that speculation have been based on the now-rumoured two-part ‘Batman V Superman’?

It’s certainly a possibility, even if it seems a little wacky. And it might even go some way towards introducing Batman into the ‘Man of Steel’ universe before setting up an epic fight between the two superheroes.

And from a business standpoint, it also makes a lot of sense. For one thing, Warner Bros. have no problem splitting movies across several parts. We’ve already seen it with the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise as well as the upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie. And let’s not forget that it’s likely to be a huge moneymaker.

Of course, with such a huge story to be told in ‘Batman V Superman’ it could be the ideal way of setting up Batman for the upcoming DC slate – introducing him into this new world.

Will it actually happen? I’m not so sure… and while it may make some sense, I can’t help thinking that the image is a fake. But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ heads to cinemas on 25 March 2016.
