Batman V Superman Trailer Debuts With Mad Max: Fury Road?

‘Batman V Superman’ gets ever-closer to an official trailer… and it could be attached to to post-apocalyptic action flick, ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’.

According to Collider, the first ‘Batman V Superman’ trailer will be released along with ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’.

“After speaking with a few sources, I’m happy to report the first Batman v Superman trailer is on the cusp of being released,” they revealed. “I’m told it’s absolutely attached to all copies of Mad Max: Fury Road, which is an obvious place for it to debut seeing as how Mad Max is WB’s first big movie of the summer.”

Of course, ‘Mad Max’ opens in the UK on 14 May 2015… about 3 weeks after Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. And that’s no co-incidence.

“What I’ve heard is that Warners isn’t sure it wants to release the trailer while Avengers: Age of Ultron is destroying records and driving all social traffic during the end of April and early May,” they said. “If they wait until the weekend Mad Max opens on May 15th, Avengers will have already been out for two weeks and they can take over the conversation at a time when everyone is ready to talk about Batman and Superman. The bottom line is: we will absolutely have seen the first Batman v Superman trailer by May 15th.”

Of course, this technically isn’t the first ‘Batman V Superman’ trailer. After all, lucky onlookers got a glimpse of the action during a Warner Bros. presentation at San Diego Comic Con.

And while global fans are no doubt keen to see the trailer, it seems that Warner Bros. is playing a much smarter game.

It’s one of their biggest releases – not just this year, but for some time. ‘Batman V Superman’ is a historic match-up that will see DC’s flagship heroes on screen together for the first time. And WB don’t want to waste the opportunity to ramp up the excitement.

Releasing a trailer now would be counter-productive. After all, the trailer would be swept up in the ‘Age of Ultron’ buzz and wouldn’t have anywhere near the same impact. Instead, they seem to be waiting until Marvel has done its thing… and after ‘Age of Ultron’ has been out for two weeks, they’ll be striking while the iron is hot.

Of course, following on from the hype and anticipation of another comic book franchise seems like a smart move. And let’s face it – it’s giving cinemagoers more of what they want.

Let’s just hope the trailer smashes everyone’s expectations.
