Batman v Superman Will Tackle Man of Steel Complaints Head-On

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will tackle common fan complaints about 'Man of Steel', it has been revealed.

Details about where Clark Kent is at the start of the film, as well as the film’s time-frame have also been revealed from a draft of the script written by Chris Terrio.

WARNING: Minor spoilers relating to Superman and events in ‘Man of Steel’ follow, though I will be vague about specifics from the new film.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' begins two years after the events of 'Man of Steel' and deals with the fallout directly. It begins with Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and Lois Lane (Amy Adams) in a relationship and living together.

Clark is still working at The Daily Planet, but it’s unclear if he’s enjoying his job. He is sent to cover the big Gotham City vs Metropolis football game when he would rather be writing about Batman (Ben Affleck).

What comes next is interesting. Early on in the film Superman travels to the Middle East, which prompts something of an international incident as Supes is seen as a tool or weapon of the United States.

Those in the Middle East are anxious because of this, and it’s also said that China specifically doesn’t want him flying through their airspace. Certainly an interesting take on the ‘Superman in the real world’ scenario.

We then get into the ‘Man of Steel’ fallout. At one point Superman references him breaking General Zod’s neck at the end of that film, and states he’ll never kill again. Superman killing was a sticking point for many purists after the first film, but it at least gave the character a very real reason for never killing again - a reason being picked up here.

Ahead of another major action scene, Superman is also told to try and stay away from populated areas. This seems like basic logic and seems quite ham-fisted in the description given, but it again stems from a complaint from the first film.

It is also insinuated that the US government is more at ease with Superman - making the two major players not comfortable with his presence Batman and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg).

Badass Digest do say however that this information comes from a draft of the script finished as the film entered production, so there may well have been tweaks.

That’s it.

It is certainly good to hear more about Superman given that news regarding the film so far has been mostly focused on the Dark Knight. It also sounds like Clark will be the centre of the new film when it’s released, which is another relief.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will be released on March 25, 2016.
