Benedict Cumberbatch Becomes A Shirtless Mr Darcy For Charity

Ladies, control yourselves. Benedict Cumberbatch, apparently somewhat of a heartthrob, has recreated Colin Firth’s iconic ‘moodily-walking-out-of-a-lake-in-an-unbuttoned-shirt’ moment from ‘Pride And Prejudice’.

Check out the snap above, part of a series taken by world famous photographer Jason Bell.

It’s all in aid of the Give Up Clothes For Good campaign, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary and encourages donating your old clothes to raise money for children’s cancers.

But how does Cumberbatch’s version compare with the original (below)? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Some of the other Hollywood celebrities to have their pictures taken by Bell include Jerry Hall, Kate Winslet, Liam Neeson, Elijah Wood, Cynthia Nixon, Hugh Bonneville, Hollyoaks’ Jeremy Sheffield and, umm, Bruno Tolioni.

The photos will be on display from 16 to 20 September at La Galleria Pall Mall courtesy of TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK. Entry is £2 or via a clothing donation.

It’s just the latest viral photo featuring Cumberbatch to do the rounds online. There was this epic U2 photobomb at the Oscars earlier in the year. Superb.

And who could forget his scarily similar teenage doppleganger? He went viral in China.

Going back to ‘Pride and Prejudice’, here’s that fiberglass monstrosity that emerged last year from the Serpentine in London’s Hyde Park to plug a digital TV channel.

Benedict will next be seen on our screens playing Alan Turing in the awards-tipped ‘The Imitation Game’. Watch the trailer below.
