Bond 24: Dave Bautista Linked With Henchman Role

'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Dave Bautista has landed a key villain role in the upcoming 24th James Bond movie, a new report claims.

It has long been rumoured that ‘Bond 24’ was seeking to cast a larger-than-life actor as an old-fashioned, iconic henchman in the spirit of ‘Goldfinger’s Oddjob and ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’s Jaws.

It isn’t too hard to see the WWE wrestler, mixed martial artist and Drax actor fitting the bill.

Latino Review claim that Bautista has been cast in the Sam Mendes movie as a new bad guy named Hinx.

They cite a casting call for a male aged between 30 and 45, height 180-195cm, described as “the main henchman/assassin.”

The casting call specified “an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.”

There can be little doubt that Bautista fits that bill - and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ proved there’s a bit more to him as an actor than some might have thought beforehand.

If this report is correct, Bautista will join Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear and the recently announced Léa Seydoux in the as-yet untitled film.

Production is set to commence in December, with photography expected to take place in England, Austria, Italy and Morocco. The film is set to hit cinemas in October 2015.
