Bond 24: Official Title And Cast Announcement Coming Thursday

The wait is almost over - the title of the 24th James Bond movie is set to be publicly announced this week.

MGM and EON Productions have confirmed that the title of the film, from returning ‘Skyfall’ director Sam Mendes, will be announced via live stream from the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios at 11am on Thursday 4 December. This announcement will also include confirmation of the full cast, who are expected to be in attendance.

The film will then at last go before the cameras on Monday 8 December, with its theatrical release set for October 2015.

The as-yet untitled film will be Daniel Craig’s fourth outing as 007, and his ‘Skyfall’ cast mates Ralph Fiennes (the new M), Ben Whishaw (the new Q), Naomie Harris (the new Miss Moneypenny) and Rory Kinnear (Tanner - there’s only ever been one of him) are all expected to return.

It is also anticipated that Léa Seydoux will be confirmed as the latest Bond girl, and that Christoph Waltz will be confirmed as the villain - though it remains to be seen if, as rumour has it, Waltz will turn out to be Bond’s most iconic adversary Blofeld.

WWE wrestler and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Dave Bautista is also expected to be confirmed as Waltz’s chief henchman, who - call it a hunch - just might get into a scuffle or two with 007.

It remains to be seen whether or not there is any truth to the rumours linking other actors to the film, such as Rihanna and more recently Hilary Swank.

John Logan wrote the screenplay, which has subsequently had a rewrite from seasoned Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, whilst Thomas Newman will provide the score, and cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema will fill the rather large boots of ‘Skyfall’ director of photography Roger Deakins.

As for anything else - we can but hope to learn more at 11am on Thursday, when the announcement will be broadcast live at www.007.com.
