Chadwick Boseman Is Already Prepping For Black Panther

After being unveiled as Marvel’s Black Panther, it looks as though Chadwick Boseman is already preparing for his role in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.

'Get On Up' star Chadwick Boseman will take on the role of Black Panther in the upcoming ‘Captain America’ sequel, before heading off on his own solo adventure in 2017. It may seem like a long way off to us Marvel fans, but it seems that the man himself has already started to prepare for the arduous task of becoming a superhero.

Appearing at The Hollywood Film Awards, the 31-year-old newly-minted Marvel superhero revealed that he’s already begun to prepare for the upcoming ‘Civil War’.

“I’ll be in Captain America: Civil War,” he confirmed to reporters. “We’re preparing for that right now as well; [I’m] just sort of beginning the workout for that. We also have ‘A Message From The King’ which will happen before [Civil War].”

Of course, his preparations for the role of Black Panther are likely to be rather extensive. After all, Boseman has yet to appear in a superhero movie and while seasoned veterans such as Hugh Jackman have become accustomed to the process, it looks as though Boseman has been thrown in at the deep end.

And that’s not the only aspect of the job he’s found difficult. After all, he had to keep a secret identity until Marvel was ready to announce the movie.

“I told some of my close friends,” Chadwick explained. “I had to keep quiet about it, so there wasn’t a lot I could do to be honest. It was mainly after it was announced I could celebrate it with people. Just to spend some time with people that I care about afterwards.”

“I’m actually preparing for another role at this moment,” he added. “‘A Message From The King’ is the movie I’m doing next. I’m doing prep for that. To some degree, there are some things I have to do at the same time. Black Panther will have its time when it gets complete focus.”

Of course, becoming Black Panther is quite an honour. After all, he’s often hailed as the first black superhero in mainstream American comic books. But will Chadwick Boseman be the right man to bring him to the big screen? For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but I have a very good feeling about that.

‘Black Panther’ is expected in cinemas on 3 November 2017.
