Past films in the series have included details of the deaths of Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and Michael Hutchence.

But this latest instalment, which features a look-a-like playing Williams, reportedly features a 'harrowing reconstruction’ of his death.

A spokesperson for the show said: “While the depiction is kept to the absolute minimum and not dwelt upon, its inclusion is important in telling the truth.

“The film celebrates Robin’s career and talent, and within that the tragic details of his death are part of that story.”

It’s said that scenes in the programme have had to be toned down, while it also features one expert blaming his suicide on undiagnosed dementia.

The film has already courted controversy, after it emerged that an adult movie star called Alain Robin will be playing the part of Williams.

The 'Good Morning Vietnam’ star’s family were said to have been be angered by the making of the documentary.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “Why anyone would want to make such a programme is beyond comprehension. His wife and family will be utterly dismayed that someone is seeking to profit from Robin’s death in such a grotesque way.”

Williams took his own life at his home in Marin County, California, last August. He was 63.

Having long struggled with depression, it also emerged that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
