Chris Pratt On Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 & His Marvel Contract

Marvel’s Star-Lord Chris Pratt has been talking about what’s left for him on his contract with the studio and revealed that he has been briefed by director James Gunn about a what’s in store in 2017’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ sequel.

Speaking to GQ the breakthrough star of 2014 disclosed the details of his Marvel contract, which unsurprisingly includes a third 'Guardians of the Galaxy’ feature.

“I’m tied to doing three more, or five more, 'Guardians of the Galaxy’ or whatever it is, you know, two more 'Guardians’ plus another couple…,” he said. That other couple of films is probably 'Avenegrs: Infinity War’ parts 1 and 2, though it could yet transpire that he’ll only appear in one of those two chapters.

Given Hollywood’s love of trilogies a third 'Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie comes as no surprise. It will probably form part of Marvel’s post-'Infinity War’ Phase Four plans.

Pratt also talked about a recent meeting with 'Guardians’ director James Gunn, who is currently penning the sequel’s script ahead of production next year.

“I got teary-eyed. He’s so f**king smart and peculiar,” said Pratt, who revealed that Gunn didn’t tell him any major plot points. “He just knows me too well to tell me too much.”

The 35-year-old also spoke of how his career will always come second to the needs of his son Jack, even if that means walking away from Hollywood to leave on a ranch and go bird hunting with him. Well, for a little while anyway: “I think I would do it and then three months later I would be tired of bird hunting and I would be like ’…Guardians 10?’ ”

'Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ is set for release on 28 April 2017.
