Christoph Waltz 'Joins Bond 24'

Christoph Waltz is jumping aboard the next Bond film, according to reports.

The Oscar-winner, best known for his star turn in ‘Django Unchained’, is said to be playing ‘a significant role’ in the movie, which would figure considering his girthsome stature in Hollywood these days.

The logical conclusion, perhaps, would be that he’s lined up to play the movie’s villain – what with his cinematically European accent and all – but as yet it’s unclear who he’ll be playing.

The tip off has come from the Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye, who has been solidly breaking Bond-based news for many years.

It was Baz who broke the news of ‘Blue Is The Warmest Colour’ star Lea Seydoux joining the cast as the movie’s femme fatale last month.

“I am told that the part is a complex one. ‘It’s not immediately evident whether the part’s friend, or foe, or a bit of both,’ a person who has knowledge of the screenplay told me,” said Bamigboye.

“Although someone else on the production let slip that the character Waltz has signed up for is ‘extremely cunning’. ‘A nemesis of sorts,’ they continued.”

Well that all sounds intriguing.

If Waltz is indeed on the team, he joins a glistening cast, including Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear and Daniel Craig – who is said to have already met with Waltz.

Sam Mendes returns to the director’s chair, following his barn-storming, box office-slaying turnout in ‘Skyfall’, still the biggest British film of all time.

Shooting is set to take place in Mexico, Austria, Morocco, Italy and London.

It’s due out on October 23, 2015.

Waltz is amidst a cinematic purple patch at the moment, appearing in Tim Burton’s ‘Big Eyes’ and ‘Horrible Bosses 2’
