CONFIRMED: First Star Wars 7 The Force Awakens Trailer To Debut This Weekend

After much speculation, it’s been confirmed that the first trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens' will debut at selected Regal Cinemas across North America this Thanksgiving weekend.

The US cinema chain confirmed it would be debuting the first look at ‘Star Wars 7’ in 9 cinemas via a post on Twitter earlier today. This Tweet has since been deleted.

Punters who visit any of the above locations on November 28, 29, or 30 will be treated to the much-anticipated trailer before any film showing in the select cinema.

We’ve reached out to Disney to find out if they plan to replicate this unprecedented trailer launch plan here in the UK and we’ll update you when we know more.

It was initially thought that the first trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ could arrive with ‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’, but that rumour was dismissed with Slash Film’s source claiming that Disney had “bigger plans” for the trailer launch.

This won’t be the first time Disney has chosen to debut a big trailer in cinemas as they did something similar for the first ‘Tron: Legacy’ trailer back in 2010.

Fan demand for the first ‘Star Wars 7’ trailer is expected to be huge, so we predict more cinema chains will reveal their plans to screen the trailer soon too. Hopefully, one of the big chains in the UK will follow suit.
