In a move that might surprise ‘Star Wars’ fans, it’s claimed that Tom Cruise could be in line for a possible cameo in ‘Star Wars VII’.

The star reportedly met with director J.J. Abrams over the weekend for dinner in London with other key members of the ‘Star Wars’ team.

Abrams and Cruise have some history already, with Abrams having co-written and directed ‘Mission: Impossible III’ with Cruise in 2006.

Abrams is also a producer on the forthcoming ‘Mission: Impossible 5’.

“Tom has been in London for over a week and met up with J.J. and some other people from ‘Star Wars’ at the weekend,” a source close to the film told The Sun.

“On Saturday evening five of them met up for dinner and drinks at the Belgravia Hotel. J.J. loves working with Tom whenever he gets the chance.”

The film has already suffered a major talent set-back, following the temporary departure of Harrison Ford from the movie last week.

It’s thought that Ford broke his leg when the door of the new Millennium Falcon closed on him. He was later air-lifted to hospital for surgery.

There are now reports that he could be out of action for as much as six months.

The source added: “Losing Harrison is going to set things back a little scheduling wise and there’s some time to play around with.”
