Dan Brown’s Inferno: Cast Revealed For Da Vinci Code Sequel

‘Inferno’ – Dan Brown’s sequel to ‘The Da Vinci Code’ – is coming to cinemas with Tom Hanks once again playing intrepid symboligist Robert Langdon. We hope his superb hair also makes a comeback.

In a press release from Columbia Pictures, it was also revealed that Felicity Jones, currently Oscar-nominated for ‘The Theory Of Everything’, will star opposite Hanks as Dr. Sienna Brooks.

Rounding out the superb international cast is Indian superstar Irrfan Khan (‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Life of Pi’, ‘Jurassic World’) - who will play Harry Sims, AKA The Provost.

French actor Omar Sy, who won acclaim for French drama ‘The Intouchables’ and also appeared in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ stars as Christoph Bruder.

Finally Sidse Babett Knudsen, the lead in Danish television series ‘Borgen,’ will play Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, the head of the World Health Organization.

The press release also says that: “the filmmakers are also in talks with several other internationally recognized actors for major roles”.

Director/producer Ron Howard will once again direct. He said in the statement: “For this film, I wanted Tom Hanks to be surrounded by an international cast of actors whose energy will underscore Robert Langdon’s life-or-death peril, the high-stakes action he takes, and the global threat that he’s trying to prevent.  Felicity, Irrfan, Omar, and Sidse have all broken through with recognition here in America as well as their home countries – they are phenomenal talents and we can’t wait to get started.”

The two previous Robert Langdon book adaptations – ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘Angels And Demons’ - made £805 million between them at the box office - but neither were critical successes.

Hanks and Howard will hope it’s third time lucky for ‘Inferno’.

'Inferno' will open in cinemas on 14 October 2016.
