Daniel Craig Rumoured To Have A Star Wars: The Force Awakens Cameo

It looks as though Daniel Craig may be heading to the galaxy far, far away… as new rumours suggest a rather cool cameo in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.

It’s no secret that ‘Star Wars VII’ returned to its spiritual home in the UK to film many of its scenes… and set up camp in the prestigious Pinewood Studios. But with 007 also making his home on the same lot, it looks as though Daniel Craig and some of the ‘SPECTRE’ cast may end up in ‘The Force Awakens’…

According to Mike The Film Guy, the 46-year-old Bond actor will take to the screen as a stormtrooper in the upcoming ‘Star Wars VII’.

“The man famous for playing James Bond will be in The Force Awakens,” he explained. “007 will be playing a stormtrooper in the movie…  I have heard this from multiple sources. This is something at this point I am pretty much sure of. Especially when others are hearing the same thing as me.”

Of course, it certainly makes a lot of sense, considering that the upcoming 007 film ‘SPECTRE’ will be filming on the same lot as the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ movies. But while it may seem like a big deal, it looks as though it could be nothing more than a knowing Easter Egg for the cast and crew.

“I was reliably informed that there were loads of Stormtroopers on [set] a few weeks earlier,” said an inside source to Making Star Wars. “Including Bond cast [such as] Daniel Craig dressed in Stormtrooper outfits.”

Now, this certainly paints a much more informal picture… and while Daniel Craig and the rest of the Bond cast might well be the men and women behind the stormtrooper helmets in the upcoming ‘Star Wars VII’, it could equally have been a bit of fun as they prepped to take over the studio for the upcoming Bond movie.

Obviously, there’s already been speculation that Daniel Craig may appear in the movie without the classic bucket helmet… but I can’t help thinking that this is way off. It seems far more likely that this was an impromptu cameo. And if that’s the case, it could remain secret for a little while.

But will Daniel Craig actually appear in ‘Star Wars VII’? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Star Wars VII’ heads to cinemas on 18 December 2015.
