Daniel Craig Has Surgery Following Injury On SPECTRE Shoot

Underlining his status as the toughest Bond yet, Daniel Craig has had surgery on his knee a full two months after reportedly injuring himself during a fight scene for the next 007 film, SPECTRE.

According to the BBC, a spokesperson for Eon Productions confirmed that the actor had a “minor procedure” in New York while on a break in filming over Easter.

“During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood,” the spokesperson said.

The 47-year-old sprained his knee while shooting at London’s Pinewood Studios in early February, prompting former Bond, the 87-year-old Roger Moore, to offer to “step in” via Twitter.

Revealed last month, the first trailer for the 24th installation of the 007 franchise introduces the shadowy organisation Bond is set to go up against, alongside its head, played by Christoph Waltz.

SPECTRE is due to be released on October 23.
