Daredevil's Red Costume Confirmed For Netflix Series

As expected Charlie Cox will don the famous red duds of Marvel superhero Daredevil when the character stars in his own Netflix series next year.

Previously images were released from the series show the hero, aka lawyer Matt Murdock, in a black costume based on the one worn by Daredevil in Frank Miller’s origin tale ‘Daredevil: Man Without Fear’.

Sony Considering Kraven’s Last Hunt Movie

"The ‘devil will eventually get his iconic red costume, but first he’ll wear the black duds seen here," reads Entertainment Weekly’s article, referencing the new image seen above.

Another new image seen below, shows Murdock walking the streets of New York’s Hells Kitchen - where the series and its follow-up series based on Marvel heroes Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, will also be set.

Daredevil’s powers stem from an accident Murdock suffered as a child, which left him blind but enhanced his other senses to super-natural levels.

For actor Charlie Cox the real challenge has apparently been playing a blind character right in the smaller moments, not just when punching bad guys.

“Like, I put on a shirt but I can’t look where the buttons are, because Daredevil wouldn’t know where the buttons are. But I also can’t fumble,” Cox said.

Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb also spoke to EW, telling them: “We’ve always approached this as a crime drama first, superhero show second.”

Marvel and Netflix’s grand plan is to showcase each aforementioned character in their own series before bringing them together Avengers-style as The Defenders.

'Daredevil' is believed to be launching in May 2015.
