Behold, David Hasselhoff’s Mindblowing Music Video True Survivor

‘Star Wars?’ ‘Batman V Superman?’ Pah. We defy you to find ANYTHING more exciting online today than this.

Watch in awe, mere mortals: it’s the latest music video from the once and future king of the internet David Hasselhoff, ‘True Survivor,’ in which the ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge reminds us just where his true talents lie - in singing outrageously catchy, inordinately cheesy pop tunes.

This time around, The Hoff has delivered the mother of all music videos to go along with it, evoking the spirit of vintage movie theme song tie-in videos.

And the real beauty of it is, this ludicrous tale of a time-travelling kung fu cop battling Hitler, riding dinosaurs and facing off against Valkryies with machine guns is a bona fide movie, set to hit screens soon.

It's called ‘Kung Fury,’ a low budget Swedish movie from director David Sandberg and production company Laser Unicorns, and as might be evident, they’re really setting out to get that 1980s feeling - albeit via the use of very modern CGI and green screen technology.

And if we’re talking 80s to the max, who better to capture that vibe than The Hoff?

An initial trailer for ‘Kung Fury’ - boasting much (but not all) of the juiciest footage used in the ‘True Survivor’ video - first came online in January 2014, and caused a major sensation in fandom. A Kickstarter campaign for the feature proved successful, with over 17,000 supporters donating to see the madcap vision fully realised.

As well as writing, directing and producing, David Sandberg also takes the title role as Miami detective Kung Fury (yes, that’s his name), who travels back in time in a bid to take out Hitler - but, as might be evident from all the dinosaurs, valkryies and whatnot, something goes wrong.

With its high camp aesthetics and Hitler-fighting plot, ‘Kung Fury’ does seem reminiscent of cult Australian TV show ‘Danger 5′ (currently available on Netflix) - but its surprisingly upmarket FX work takes it to an altogether different place.

Perhaps even more surprisingly, ‘Kung Fury’ will only be a 30 minute short film, and is set to be released on the internet for free in the near future.

Be sure to check it out once it’s online. The power of Hoff compels you.
