DC Movies News : Whedon Wants Female Batman, Ryan Reynolds Talks Green Lantern Failure And More

Salutations DCoholics. I hope the past seven days havetreated you well. Now that we’ve exchanged niceties, let’s figure out what’sbeen going on in the world of Batman, Superman, The Green Lantern, The Flash et al this week.

Not too much really. Which isn’t really a surprise because while we wait and wait and wait for the first ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ trailer to appear we can expect there to a deafening silence from Warner Bros. and DC.

But we shouldn’t let that stop us going over ever little detail regarding the DC cinematic universe though. So, let’s start with a certain Marvel director insisting that he wants a female Batman movie to be made …

Joss Whedon Wants A Female Batman Movie

Not set with having helped to turn Marvel into the biggest film studio in Hollywood, Joss Whedon has turned his head to helping out the burgeoning DC cinematic universe too.

And how does he want to do that? He’s told BuzzFeed that if he wasn’t making ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ he’d want to make a “turn of the century female Batman.”

Or maybe he doesn’t. Because he then immediately added, “Not Batman actually. But, you know, something cool. One person. Can’t stress that enough. Movie about one person – not a team, not 10, just one.”

Make up your mind, man!

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Is In IMAX

This was already pretty much a formality, but Jason Momoa has confirmed that ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ was shot in IMAX.

IMAX cameras were already spotted on set a few months back, and while telling Daily Beast how much pride his Batman adoring son and Wonder Woman obsessed daughter will have seeing their father portray Aquaman alongside their idols, he noted, “they can see Daddy kicking ass in IMAX.”

That’s the most adorable way a potential leak has ever been made.

Ryan Reynolds Explains Why Green Lantern Failed

Everyone can put down their calculators because Ryan Reynolds has finally figured out why ‘The Green Lantern’ was such a colossal failure.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies Reynolds said that the 2011 film flopped because the script didn’t “exist” when he auditioned and was subsequently offered the part. Way to pass the blame, Reynolds.

No Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Super Bowl Trailer

No news is good news, right? Well in the case of a potential ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Super Bowl spot that old adage well and truly rang hollow.

Various rumors popped up on the internet over the weekend suggesting that a debut clip for the blockbuster would premiere in the midst of the world’s most popular game of hand-egg (I refuse to call it football). It never appeared. Thus we were all left hugely disappointed.

At least ‘Inside Out’s’ adorable teaser made up for it.

Ezra Miller On Zack Snyder’s Justice League Flash Phonecall

Ezra Miller has confirmed what we all assumed; being offered a superhero role leaves you in a “state of shock and disbelief.”

The upcoming titular star of ‘The Flash’ also explained to MTV that Zack Snyder was “gung-ho” in his description of how Miller will fit into the DC Universe.

Sounds like one of his movies. Let’s just hope his description had more substance. BOOM! Take that, Snyder.

Did Tyrese Gibson Get A Green Lantern Warner Bros. Meeting?

Last week Tyrese Gibson began his one-man social media crusade to land himself an audition for ‘The Green Lantern’. I won’t bore you with the plethora of messages he sent out, you can scroll through his Twitter and Instagram accounts to see them for yourself.

The thing is though it might have actually worked. Because check out one of the last messages he sent …

Or maybe it didn’t and Tyrese Gibson just drove to the front of the Warner Bros. lot, took a photo and then drove away. A part of me really hopes it’s the latter.

Best DC Related Social Media Post Goes To … Clay Enos

Aside from Tyrese Gibson’s ‘Green Lantern’ blitzkrieg, there was another post that stood out.

We’re not sure if Zack Snyder’s longtime set photographer Clay Enos took this picture, which he uploaded on Tuesday, on the set of ‘Man Of Steel’ or ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’.

Either way though, it’s totally awesome …

That’s all for now though, people. Have a gratifying week and stay out of trouble.
