Doctor Who star Billie Piper joins Fleabag's Andrew Scott in new movie
Doctor Who star Billie Piper and Fleabag's 'Hot Priest' Andrew Scott are teaming up for a new movie from Girls creator Lena Dunham.
Billie and Andrew have joined Lena's feature-length adaptation of Catherine, Called Birdy for Working Title and Amazon, Variety is reporting. The movie is based on Karen Cushman's children's novel of the same name, originally published in 1994.
Quite the departure from Billie's latest role in I Hate Suzie, the actress will play Catherine's mum in Catherine, Called Birdy, while Scott will play the titular character's dad. Catherine will be played by Game of Thrones favourite Bella Ramsey, aka Lyanna Mormont.

The medieval coming-of-age comedy is reportedly a "passion project" of Lena Dunham's, who first announced her plans to adapt the book way back in 2014.
Cushman's story is told in the form of a fictional diary, written by a 14-year-old girl in 13th century England who "bucks against convention" and resists the arranged marriages her parents have planned for her.
Elsewhere, Billie recently ruled out any kind of return as Doctor Who's Rose Tyler.

Opening up about her companion character, she said: "I wouldn't go back. It's a great role, but you're away from your kids for so long. My experience was that you were in Wales for nine months solid.
"And as a job it dominates your life. It's mainstream family viewing so you can't really escape it. It feels like it makes you very, very famous."
