Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggart Up For Bond 24?

'Downton Abbey' star Joanne Froggart has kind-of/sort-of implied that she may be up for a role in the upcoming 24th James Bond movie.

Quizzed by The Sun on whether or not she had auditioned for the film, the actress replied “I can’t comment really on that one.”

Not exactly cast-iron confirmation that Froggart will be popping up alongside Daniel Craig and company, then; but declining to comment either way invariably raises more suspicion than a flat-out denial.

Froggart went on, "Who wouldn’t like to be a Bond girl? I am not the Bond girl type. I would probably be more a Q or an M…we’ll see. I don’t know."

Inevitably, this may lead to speculation that the actress may be up for the main ‘Bond girl’ role, which has long been reported to be written with a British actress in mind.

Still, there will surely be any number of female roles in the film, and Froggart’s remarks would seem to imply she may be in line to play a member of the MI6 office.

The only cast members confirmed for the as-yet untitled film are those returning from the last Bond, ‘Skyfall:’ Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear.

Sam Mendes will direct with a screenplay from John Logan, which has undergone some last-minute rewrites from veteran Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

Production commences in December, with the film set to hit cinemas in October 2015.
