Ed Miliband Spotted In Shaun The Sheep Movie

He’s always looked like a life-size ‘Wallace and Gromit’ character, but now it appears that Ed Miliband has officially made the transition to Plasticine.

For the opposition leader - or a character looking the spitting image of him - has been spotted in the trailer for the forthcoming big screen version of ‘Shaun The Sheep’ from Aardman Animations, the studio behind ‘Wallace and Gromit’.

Ed pitches up in a restaurant scene in the movie, as a suspiciously sheepish-looking diner appears to have forgotten his table manners.

Whether the idea of making the Ed look-a-like a waiter – well, he is waiting to be the prime minister – was intentional satire is unclear.

But these two are dead ringers.

Miliband has been forced to accept his likeness to characters from the Bristol-based studio, and has made quips about it on several occasions.

During a speech last summer, he said: “I am not from central casting. You can find people who are more square-jawed, more chiselled, look less like Wallace.”

Then in 2012 he described himself as ‘somebody who looks a bit like Wallace from Wallace and Gromit’.

“If spin doctors could design a politician, I suspect he wouldn’t look like me,” he added.

The Tory party has also used the likeness as a stick to beat the Labour leader with.

Last year during his Autumn Statement, George Osbourne said: “The man behind Wallace’s voice has retired. But after next May I am sure the whole House will unite behind a suitable and, by then, available candidate.”

Shaun The Sheep premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last week, is due out in the UK on February 6.
