Emma Stone Is Smokin' In First Cabaret Photos
The first official photos of Emma Stone in the Broadway production of ‘Cabaret’ have arrived courtesy of Vanity Fair and the actress is looking smoking… literally.
The ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ star is making her Broadway debut playing Sally Bowles, the role immortalised by Liza Minnelli in Bob Fosse’s classic 1972 musical, opposite Allan Cumming as Emcee.
The star was photographed in the role’s iconic revealing attire at the show’s Studio 54 home in New York, and she told Vanity Fair it was a dream come true landing the part.

“I’ve wanted to play Sally Bowles since I was 10, when I saw Natasha Richardson in Cabaret,” she said.
“Rob Marshall [co-director of the show] said to me that Sally is like Hamlet for women.”

Stone takes over the role from Michelle Williams (who also made her Broadway debut in the show) until it finishes in February 2015. This is the same production of ‘Cabaret’ that wayward actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested at for grabbing Alan Cummings’ rear during a performance back in June.
The musical was began life on Broadway back in 1966 when it was adapted from the Christopher Isherwood novel ‘The Berlin Stories’, but the best-known incarnation came in 1972 when it was adapted into a movie starring Liza Minnelli and Michael York.
