Evan Peters On Quicksilver’s Superfast X-Men Scenes

It looks as though Quicksilver’s stunning scenes in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ weren’t as effortless as they look… but will we see more of them in the upcoming sequel?

After Quicksilver’s impressive debut in ‘Days of Future Past’, comic book fans are dying to see what’s next for the superfast Marvel mutant. And with an appearance in the upcoming ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’, it won’t be long before we see him back in action.

And Evan Peters can’t wait to suit up once more.

During an interview with the Latino Review, the 28-year-old Marvel mutant explained all about the now famous slow-motion scenes.

“It was awesome,” he said. “It was a lot of technical work. But it was really fun to do and in the end I was really blown away by the end result. It was like, ‘Is that me?’ It was so weird and very, very cool. I think the directing and the editing and the special effects guys are just mind-blowing in that movie, and I owe a lot of it to them. I did very little. They were the real orchestrators and I thought it was very cool.”

But will we be seeing more of his powers in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’?

“I hope in the next one I get to do some cool stuff as well,” he added.

“I always wanted to play someone with a superpower, specifically an X-Man because I loved the movies so much as a kid,” he said. “And I think it’s really cool to play one of the fastest people in the world. It’s a really cool superpower to have. So I’m pretty happy to have it.”

Of course, most comic book movie fans have dreamt about what it’s like to get their very own superpower… and on the big screen at least, Evan Peters has realised that dream. But how does he feel about someone else playing the role of Quicksilver in the MCU?

With Aaron Taylor-Johnson suiting up for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ he doesn’t really have much choice…

“I can’t wait to see that movie!” he said. “I’m a big fan of those movies and a big fan of Aaron’s so I’m excited to see it!”

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ heads to cinemas on 19 May 2016.
