Ezra Miller On The Flash: 'I'd Do It For Forty Years'

Ezra Miller has expressed his excitement at playing The Flash in Warner Bros’ DC superhero movies in one of his first interviews since his casting was announced last year.

Hitflix caught up with the ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ and ‘The Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ star at the Sundance Film Festival where he was promoting his new film ‘The Stanford Prison Experiment’.

Asked whether he’s excited to know he’ll potentially have the gig for a long time, Miller said: “It’s a mixed bag but I’m happy - I’m going to say I feel really happy about it in one way because the idea of actually having a steady job in my life is actually incredibly comforting. It’s something I didn’t necessarily think I would ever have.

"Then of course, there are the moments when responsibility-dodging, adolescent-me is like, ‘No, I don’t want to’ [laughs]. That’s a very small part. At this point it’s a diminishing voice. Every time I think about that reality, it makes me extremely happy.

"I’m really stoked and I would do it for forty years. That contract could have said anything."

Miller was a surprising and somewhat controversial choice to play the Scarlet Speedster - who will presumably be the Barry Allen version, but could possibly be the original comic book Flash Jay Garrick.

The 22-year-old rising star made a mark on Hollywood with his wildly different performances in ‘Kevin’ and ‘Wallflower’ - marking him as a big star of the future. His first appearance as The Flash will be in 2017’s ‘Justice League’ ahead of a solo movie in 2018.
