Fast & Furious 7 Renamed ‘Furious 7’ In The USA

The new film in the ‘Fast & Furious’ series has been given a different official title in the States (and some other reasons, yet to be confirmed): It’s now called ‘Furious 7’.

It’s still ‘Fast & Furious 7’ here in Blighty.

Universal Studios made the official announcement on the movie’s Facebook page yesterday, also releasing a spanking new poster.

“Because of our fans, our saga has grown bigger and better with every chapter,” read the announcement.

“In just 7 days, we will reveal the first trailer for our next instalment – FURIOUS 7– at The Road to Furious 7: Trailer Launch Event at Universal Studios in Los Angeles!”

So within a week, we’ll have the first trailer from director James Wan’s sequel to check out too.

The poster is a reverent affair, featuring franchise stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and, of course, the late Paul Walker.

There’s also a new UK teaser poster too reflecting the more sedate title…

Walker died in a car wreck in November last year, while he was in the middle of filming the seventh film in the series.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that Walker’s brothers Caleb and Cody were to appear in certain scenes he left unfinished.

Once the production resumed filming in April, a statement was released, saying: “We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family.

“Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.”

'Fast & Furious 7' will be released in the UK on April 3, 2015.
