First look at Hocus Pocus 2 reunites the Sanderson Sisters

Disney+ has finally revealed the first preview of the Sanderson Sisters in the long-awaited Hocus Pocus 2.

Today (November 12) is Disney+ Day, which means new content, new announcements and previews of upcoming Disney releases.

As part of the celebrations, Hocus Pocus fans have been given a post-Halloween treat with a first look at Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the iconic Sanderson Sisters.

In the announcement, Disney+ shared: "They're already running amok, amok, amok! @BetteMidler, @SJP, and @KathyNajimy are in production on #HocusPocus2, coming Fall 2022 on #DisneyPlus."

The sequel was officially announced back in May. The synopsis reads: "Three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world."

Bette Midler confirmed early on she would be reprising her role as Winifred, alongside SJP as Sarah and Kathy Najimy as Mary.

On Halloween, Disney confirmed Veep's Sam Richardson, his co-star Tony Hale, and Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham will also be in the cast, although their roles haven't yet been disclosed.

Doug Jones will return as Billy Butcherson, and Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo will play the three sisters who become targets of the Sandersons.

This was just one of many announcements and previews Disney+ has revealed today. While you'll have to wait until autumn 2022 for Hocus Pocus 2, fortunately Ice Age, a series based on Big Hero Six, the Enchanted sequel, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and a live-action Pinocchio will all hit the platform between now and the end of next year.

National Geographic also has new content coming to the platform, including Will Smith's Welcome to Earth on December 8 and Limitless With Chris Hemsworth in 2022.

Hocus Pocus is available to watch on Disney+. Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in autumn 2022.
