First Star Wars: The Force Awakens Toys Revealed

It’s official – our ‘Star Wars’ collections are about to get a lot bigger… as the first new ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ toy lines have been revealed.

Appearing online over at Entertainment Weekly, these new ‘Star Wars’ toys will debut exclusively at San Diego Comic Con on 9 July. And as you can see, they feature some rather impressive new figures – including a brand new LEGO stormtrooper.

And we have to admit, they look rather awesome.

Of course, many more toy lines are likely to debut in the run up to ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ on 18 December… but while we can’t wait to get our hands on Rey, Finn and even the villainous Kylo Ren, it’s the stormtroopers who continue to take centre stage.

Black Series Star Wars 7 Stormtrooper

The ‘Star Wars’ Black Series has become renowned amongst toy collectors for incredible attention to detail… and the all-new ‘The Force Awakens’ stormtrooper is no exception. The rather awesome stormtrooper figure is boxed in impressive black-and-white packaging, and it features some of the ‘First Order’ iconography which will no doubt become as iconic as those original trilogy Empire symbols.

Clearly more of a collector’s piece, this 6-inch action figure is a San Diego Comic Con exclusive – at least, in this awesome collectible box.

It will be available to purchase at the convention itself for $24.99, as well as online shortly afterwards.

But you’d better be snappy if you fancy your chances – it is a limited edition after all.

LEGO Star Wars 7 Stormtrooper

This is not the minifigure you’ve been looking for. In fact, it’s not a LEGO minifigure at all. This impressive 81-piece First Order Stormtrooper set allows you to build your very own ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ stormtrooper.

At approximately 9-inches tall, it probably won’t play well with your other ‘Star Wars’ LEGO. But it does look rather cool.

Although this set will be on display at Comic Con, you’ll have to wait until 1 January to get your hands on one – weeks after the film’s release. But don’t worry, he may look a little short for a stormtrooper, but LEGO promises a life-sized ‘Star Wars 7’ stormtrooper will be on display at the convention, too.

And it’ll be made entirely out of standard LEGO pieces.

Hot Wheels Star Wars 7 Stormtrooper Car

I have to admit, this is a bit of an odd one – Mattel has been producing a line of ‘Star Wars’ Hot Wheels for some time now, featuring cars based on some of the most iconic characters in the galaxy far, far away.

Well, it looks as though ‘Star Wars 7’ will be getting the same treatment, as those now iconic First Order Stormtroopers get a vehicular makeover.

This new die-cast model will be available at Comic Con, joining the ranks of the Empire’s other troopers – the Porche-esque Vintage Stormtrooper and Clone Trooper SUV.

Unfortunately, that’s all we get for now. There are bound to be a whole variety of new toy lines revealed as ‘Star Wars 7’ draws closer. But if you were hoping for a glimpse of any new lightsabers in toy form, we’ll have to wait and see.

Let’s just hope that controversial sabre-design comes with a safety warning.
