'Frozen's' continued success and (ever-growing) popularity has aided Disney to achieve its highest quarterly profits in the company's history.

The Oscar-winning CG musical, starring Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad, has persisted to entertain and keeps increasing in fans since its US debut in early November of 2013.

According to sources, Disney have just experienced their best ever quarterly profits, and it’s thanks to the Elsa and Anna movie. The boost sees profits up 9% to an impressive $13.39bn (£8.82bn). In fact, analysts had predicted that Disney would reveal profits in the region of around $12.9 billion, but was over half a billion more.

It’s estimated that the consumer demand for all things ‘Frozen’ saw a 19% increase in profits, which equates to a cool $2.18 billion.

In truth, it’s little surprise that the award-winning animated film has helped take Disney to an all-time best quarter, considering the continued interest in the film. DVDs and Blu-rays are still selling, as are copies of the soundtrack (which has sold millions during 2014).

The recent announcement of ‘Frozen Fever’ — a brand new animated short that’ll play before the cinema feature ‘Cinderella’ — has ignited further discussion surrounding a sequel and has, once again, got people talking.

With $1.3 billion in worldwide box office sales, it’s the highest-grossing animated film ever, and sits inside the top 5 highest-grossing movies of ever list.
