Frozen Director And Composers Reunite For Musical

Great news for ‘Frozen’ fans — the team behind the movie are now on board for the stage show that’s heading to Broadway.

One of the Oscar-winning directors that helmed the Disney film, Jennifer Lee, has signed up to write the book version for the stage show, with composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez ready to create new, additional songs for the production that’ll accompany well-known favourites like Let It Go.

Given that Lopez and Anderson-Lopez are already Tony Award-winning composers, they’re accustomed to writing songs and scores for shows such as ‘The Book of Mormon’ and ‘Avenue Q’, so it’s no surprise to learn of their involvement in ‘Frozen’s’ adaptation.

However, the film’s star, Idina Menzel, isn’t yet attached to the project, even though she’s an accomplished stage performer and has since become a household name with her performance as Elsa.

When asked about appearing on stage as her movie character Anna, Kristen Bell has expressed enthusiasm. In truth, it’d be great to see the film cast reunite. They’re all capable of belting out their respective tunes, so to see Josh Gad (loveable snowman Olaf) with Bell and Menzel on stage would be a huge draw for fans and theatre goers alike.

At present, there’s no confirmed date for when ‘Frozen’ will eventually make its way to the stage, but despite it being rumoured to be heading there in 2017, no official details have been shared yet.
