Frozen Director Apologises To Parents Everywhere For Let It Go

‘Frozen’s’ Jennifer Lee has apologised to the long-suffering parents who have had to put up with the hit song from the animated behemoth, Let It Go, being constantly played to them by their children.

The immensely popular track has been covered by literally hundreds of thousands of people from across the world, while dozens of celebrities have even paid homage to the song too.

Let It Go, which was performed by Idina Menzel in the film, won the Academy Award for Best Song at the Oscars, plus it also made the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100.

43-year-old Jennifer Lee admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that she has now had to change her answer when quizzed by embattled parents about Let It Go.

“A year ago, I’d meet people who, when they found out who I was, they’d say, ‘Oh, we love the songs! We sing them all the time,” she explained. “Now they’re like, ‘Yep, we’re still listening to those songs.’ I’ve gone from, ‘Thank you,’ to, ‘Sorry!’”

Despite having competition from the likes of Do You Want To Build A Snowman? and Love Is An Open Door, Let It Go was easily the most popular song to have emerged from ‘Frozen’, which grossed $1.27 billion across the world when it was released in November 2013.

It has since been covered by the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Ellen De Generes, Demi Lovato and Kristen Wiig, while the world wide web has become inundated with numerous other versions that have either become popular because of just how bad or delightfully bizarre they are.

If you wanted to, you could literally spend days trawling through the internet listening to each and every one of them. But if you actually did that you’d almost certainly lose the will by the end of the first 24 hours.
