Game of Thrones fans will doubtless be thrilled to learn that actor Miltos Yerolemou has signed up to the new Star Wars movie.

Yerolemou played the legendary fencing master of Bravos Syrio Forel in the first series of the fantasy show, the combat tutor to Arya Stark.

Best known for the scene in which he fends off a squad of elite guards using only a wooden sword, speculation will be rife as to whether he will be picking up a lightsaber for the new movie.

Either way, he’ll be able to reacquaint himself with his fellow Thrones star, the towering Gwendoline Christie, who plays the warrior Brienne of Tarth and is also confirmed for the cast of the seventh ‘Star Wars’ movie.

Lucasfilm has not commented on the casting, but it’s not thought Yerolemou will be taking on a major role.

An alumnus of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Yerolemou has also recently filmed a role for the BBC’s adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s ‘Wolf Hall’.

Filming of the movie resumed this week at Pinewood Studios, after Harrison Ford broke his leg on set in June in an incident said to have involved the door to the Millennium Falcon.

The J.J. Abrams’-directed sequel is due out in December, 2015, starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
