Golden Globes Bill Cosby Joke Gets Mixed Response From Stars

As predicted, hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey made a joke about the recent Bill Cosby sexual assault allegations at this year’s Golden Globes. Watch it above.

But some stars found it funnier than others as the photo below shows.

Poehler said: “In ‘Into the Woods’, Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from a tower for her prince, and Sleeping Beauty just thought she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby.”

Fey added: “I don’t know if you saw this on the news today, but Bill Cosby has finally spoken out about the allegations against him. Cosby admitted to a reporter [doing a Cosby impression] ‘I put the pills in the people! The people didn’t want the pills in them!’”

“That’s not right,” Poehler said. “It’s more like [Cosby impression]: ‘I got the pills in the bathroom and I put them in the people!’”

The amazing photo from behind the hosts shows how well the gag went down in the room.

George Clooney for example seems to find it hilarious, but his wife Amal seems less impressed, as does a stony-faced Bill Murray.

Jessica Chastain seems shocked they went there, while fellow table guest Helen Mirren seems mildy amused. It’s certainly a mixed reaction from the stars.

This isn’t the first time Fey and Poehler have tackled the Cosby allegations. Way back in 2005 the duo joked about the rumours in the Weekend Update segment of ‘Saturday Night Live’.

There’s another joke on the subject in a 2009 episode of ’30 Rock’, written by Fey.
