It’s a fact that must do Dame Helen Mirren’s self-esteem no end of good… her body double is a whole 39 years younger than her.

30-year-old Fleur van Eeden is standing in for the 69-year-old screen veteran in the forthcoming war thriller ‘Eye in the Sky’, currently filming in Cape Town.

“It’s amazing to be playing her body double when I’m 40 years younger than her. But Helen looks fantastic,” she told the Daily Mirror.

“No way does she look her age – she looks amazing. I want to look like that when I’m 69.

“She is an amazing lady and thanked me so much for doubling her. She was awestruck by the beauty of where we were filming.”

Van Eeden has previously stood in for Charlize Theron in forthcoming ‘The Last Face’, and has appeared as a stunt double in movies like ‘Dredd’, ‘Chronicle’ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, with Tom Hardy.

She doubled for Mirren during an action sequence in a 4x4 vehicle.

The movie also stars Alan Rickman and ‘Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, and is being produced by Colin Firth.

Mirren has previously spoken about how she reckons her enviable physique is down to a few smart tips.

“Four-inch platform heels give you great height and make your legs look unbelievably long,” she said in an interview.

“I used to get them in stripper shops but now you can buy them everywhere. Unfortunately, that means everyone else had discovered the trick too.

“I also hold my tummy in. It comes from being on stage. You are aware of your posture.”

Mirren is currently starring in comedy-drama ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’, from Lasse Hallström, the director of ‘Chocolat’.
