Huge Star Wars Twist Reveals Shocking New Character

Although ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is set to change everything, it seems there’s still room for a few big surprises… and this one is all about Han.

It’s no secret that Han Solo has a way with the ladies – just look at how he managed to put the moves on a Rebels Princess. But now it looks as though Leia isn’t the only one to give into Han’s charm – as the latest ‘Star Wars’ comic reveals that he already had a wife.

That’s right – introducing Sana Solo.

Making her debut appearance in Marvel’s Star Wars #6, it looks as though Sana Solo is on a mission to track down Han… and she might just throw a spanner in the works when it comes to him and Leia.

After all, she is claiming to be his wife.

Of course, Sana Solo is an entirely new character created for the comic books… but with Disney now in charge of the new ‘Star Wars’ canon, it looks as though they’re not shying away from making a few changes. And this one could potentially affect ‘Star Wars VII’.

Obviously, there was never a hint of Sana Solo throughout the original trilogy… and her existence remained a mystery, until now. Sure, Han had a few ex-girlfriends throughout the old Expanded Universe. But a wife? That’s a first.

So what do we know about Sana Solo?

At the moment, not an awful lot. She appears on the cover of the upcoming Star Wars #9 and it seems she’s been tracking Leia and Han for some time. The solicitation text merely tells us that she’s a ‘mysterious woman from Han’s past’. And Han’s head-in-hands reaction doesn’t give much away.

Except for the fact that he seems more annoyed than panicked.

Could Sana’s claims be dubious at best? Perhaps they weren’t married at all? I mentioned earlier that Han Solo is already known to have had some flirtations before Leia… and one of those is the EU character Salla Zend.

A smuggler who expresses a desire to marry Han Solo, he nevertheless refuses and they part ways. But could this be our mystery woman?

If not, then Sana Solo’s appearance could have much larger implications for the ‘Star Wars’ universe… and some fans are already speculating that Sana’s ‘marriage’ to Han Solo could even mean that John Boyega’s character in ‘The Force Awakens’ is in some way related to our favourite scruffy-looking nerf herder.

Will it turn out that way? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But if the comic books are already laying the groundwork for ‘Star Wars VII’, that’s really quite something.
