Pac-Man Sent Into Space To Celebrate 35th Birthday

Iconic video game character Pac-Man has been sent into space to celebrate his 35th birthday.

Yes, it really has been 35 years since Namco launched Pac-Man…

The game was created by young Namco employee, Toru Iwatani. He developed the game in a year and based the design of the character on a pizza missing a slice.

The original Japanese title was Pakkuman and was inspired by the Japanese slang phrase paku-paku taberu which describes the sound of the mouth movement when widely opened and then closed in succession.

The stunt was put on by Sony Pictures as the little yellow man will soon be seen in cinemas in Adam Sandler flick ‘Pixels’. You can watch the trailer for that below:
