With the full line-up for this year’s Cannes Film Festival announced, it’s been revealed that Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ will makes its debut.

The 68th film festival will run from 13 - 24 May, with a number of big movies set to screen alongside Pixar’s latest, including Woody Allen’s ‘Irrational Man’, The Little Prince’ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ in the Out Of Competition category.

While other films such as Matthew McConaughey’s ‘The Sea of Trees’ and the Michael Fassbender-starring ‘Macbeth’ are attracting attention, ‘Inside Out’ is arguably one of the most anticipated films showing, especially for animation and Pixar fans.

It’s been almost two years since Pixar have released a film – 2013′s sequel ‘Monsters University’ was their last – and now, for the first time in its history, is releasing two features in a single calendar year.

With ‘Inside Out’ featuring at Cannes in May, it’s got a UK cinema date of 24 July, so there’s a good two months to wait – and comes out here around five weeks after the US, which is frustrating for UK fans. 27 November sees ‘The Good Dinosaur’ hit screens just in time for the festive period, so at least there’s double the Pixar fun to be had before Christmas.

2015 is a rather big year for the animation studio, with each production hoping to do well at the worldwide box office and compete strongly in next year’s Oscars. And they know the pressure’s on, with Disney dominating the Best Animation category two years in a row (with ‘Frozen’ in 2014 and ‘Big Hero 6′ in 2015), there’s every chance Pixar will have both their movies in the nominated category come early 2016.
