ITV is Planning a Back To The Future Tribute... And it Sounds Awful

ITV has announced plans for a 90-minute special later this year to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of sci-fi comedy ‘Back To The Future’.

Great Scott! That’s awesome news, right? Not quite.

Fans of the time-travelling classic are up in arms at ITV’s plan to honour this momentous occasion with a TV special called ‘Keith Lemon’s Back to the Future Tribute’, which will feature sketches and interviews conducted by the ‘Celebrity Juice’ host.

One fan took to Twitter to say: “Doubt it’s possible to ruin the adventures of Marty, Doc & the DeLorean but sure Keith Lemon Goes Back To The Future will give it a good go”.

Other fans expressed their dismay on Twitter, with Graeme Neill saying “we have failed as a civilisation”.

The show will feature Leigh Francis’ comedy creation recreating iconic scenes from the film with Paddy McGuinness as Biff and TV chef Gino D’Acampo as Doc Brown, and Pop supergroup McBusted will perform ‘Johnny B. Goode’ like Michael J Fox’s Marty McFly does in the film.

The ‘Celebrity Juice’ host is also set to visit key locations from the film and interview some of the original cast and creators.

‘Keith Lemon’s Back to the Future Tribute’ will air on ITV2 this Autumn.
